MAP, 2013
anodised aluminium
limited edition
Origin: A square parallelepiped with sides of 43 centimetres, 6 centimetres thick (43 x 43 x 6 cm). A second, rectangular parallelepiped, equal to two of the square parallelepipeds, and of the same thickness (86 x 43 x 6 cm). These are the two base modules of MAP.
Material: Anodised aluminium is the only material used.
Construction: Assembled along their long and/or short sides, the modules are configured in a logical progression until they form a horizontal surface raised to table height thanks to thin columns set out underneath this surface, simply to support it.
Form: MAP is a kind of organism which shifts its shape for different functions: table, coffee table, work table, reception table, outsize table, console, corner console, pair of consoles.
Colour: The surface is comprised of three colours: subjective, aesthetic, and practical.
Modularity: This allows for regularity and its opposite, but also for the multiplicity of constructive formulae, which are always reversible. It enables an unlimited occupation of space.
Monumentality: MAP is monumental, off-scale: from the original module to infinity.
